Part 1: Language
My first NetArt page centered around the ideas of language and cognition. In my word cloud, I explored language, and how it relates to how we build relationships. Some ideas I wrote down were love, hurt, family, the art piece "Untitled, The Perfect Lovers" by Felix Gonzales-Torres, and the idea of pipes being a symbol of relationships.
With that in mind, I began to gather images. I looked for images that represented different types of relationships. I tried to build this collage with connection in mind. I wanted to show this in both theme and composition. There is a hidden clickable element.
In critique, one of the suggestions was to bring the piece beyond the container. In the original, I had kept all of the elements contained within an 800 px x 600 px div, similar to our first Net Art project. Here is a screenshot from the original net art piece.
